Honda Civic
With drop-dead gorgeous looks, extremely responsive 1.8-liter engine, futuristic and luxurious interiors, Honda quality that offers precision fit, the Civic is a fantastic car to own. If you are looking for a flip side on this car there are too few and not worth a mention.

Design
Smooth is the word that comes to mind when one looks at the Civic. A single stroke encompasses the entire car from the low nose to the concave rear end.
The sharp-edged and accurate detailing lends greatly to the futuristic looks. The low slung look, aggressive headlamps, front grille design, fenders drooping away from the bonnet gives Civic the ‘looks to die for’.
The interiors give you the impression of being inside a cockpit reinforcing Honda’s claim of Civic being years ahead of its times in design. The neatly laid out dashboard gives easy access to controls. The 3-spoke steering wheel, z-shaped parking lever and the compact floor console complete the feel of a futuristic vehicle. The finish and quality is absolutely top-level, envy of even higher segment cars. For those going heavy on looks and luxury should opt for the leather seats being offered by dealers.
Comfort
Spacious interiors, extremely supportive seats provide top-level seating comfort. The long wheelbase provides ample legroom. The well-tuned suspension, soft plastic feel, feather-touch controls augment the comfort index of the civic. Thoughtfully provided armrest controls on the rear seat would appeal to the chauffer-driven owner.
The engine sound levels have been reduced considerably inside the car. Techniques for reduced noise intrusion and interior sound absorption have been incorporated.  There are hood and dashboard insulators in the front end, sound absorbing roof lining and floor carpets in the cabin area and rear train and trunk sideliner insulators in the rear end.
We experienced heightened pleasure on the go, with the 5-speed AT. Inspired by Honda F1 Racing, the paddle shift enables you to control the drive with your fingertips.
You can keep track of the car functions without taking your eyes off the road with the friendly multiplex meter displayed just below the driver’s line of sight. The double-wishbone rear suspension and the McPherson strut suspension offer a stable ride even at high speeds too. An organ-type accelerator pedal has been provided like luxury cars for a good feel.

The bending your knees while entering the low car is an irritant especially to the elderly. Also, the low ground clearance can be a major problem while going over speed breakers is another downside on this otherwise lovely car.
Engine, Transmission and Performance
The lively and spunky engine makes the drive a pleasurable experience. It lets you speed without overwhelming you with its power.
The new 1.8- liter engine is as comfortable at the top-most speed as it isat low initial speed. The acceleration is so smooth that you can rev to your heart’s content. The handling is superb due to a very responsive steering, good body control, excellent brakes and an absolutely lovable gearbox. The gearbox is as soft and smooth as butter, the best in the segment.
The unique paddle shift provided makes you feel like an F1 driver.
The paddle shift makes a smooth transition from the automatic-manual-automatic mode and gives you a unique driving experience. City driving in narrow lanes to rally driving on highways, you can do it all. The V-tec engine gives you a fuel-efficiency of 9 plus kilometer per litre.
Safety
Civic showcases the Honda’s initiative of “Safety for everyone”, providing safety to all the occupants of the car. The Civic comes equipped with G-CON Technology, an advanced passive shielding that offers the occupant a survival zone in case of an unavoidable collision. The advanced active safeguards such as ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) work in synergy with BA (Brake Assist) that makes the drive safe in any given road condition.
The Honda Civic’s long list of standard safety equipment include side-curtain air bags, dual front SRS air bags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS), active front head restraints, tethers and anchors for child-protection seats and daytime running lights.
This list has fetched the civic "Top Safety Pick - Gold" Award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Civic’s internationally acclaimed safety features make it one of the safest cars on Indian roads. Summing it up, the Civic is clearly a step ahead of all cars that we have seen in its class., whether it’s the engine and performance or design and interiors.
